CareWell Health Medical Center, formerly East Orange General Hospital, Essex County’s premier independent, acute care hospital, is pleased to announce that Chris Coruna has been named Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). “I am thrilled to announce that Chris Coruna is taking on the role of Chief Nursing Officer at CareWell Health Medical Center,” said Paige Dworak, CEO of CareWell Health Medical Center. “CareWell Health is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to the communities we serve. With 30 years of experience, Chris will be instrumental in leading our nurses and team members through this challenging time to elevate the standard of care and enhance the patient experience.” Chris Coruna most recently served as CareWell Health’s Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Nursing and Patient Care Services. Since joining the organization in March 2019, Chris has been an integral member of the leadership team. Under Chris’ leadership, CareWell Health’s clinical teams made significant progress over the past year advancing the quality of care provided. The organization saw overall improvements in patient experience, infection rates and quality outcomes. Prior to joining CareWell Health, Chris served in leadership positions at several of New York’s leading hospitals. Chris earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marian College, his Master of Science from Pace University, and his Master of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University.
