Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and the County of Bergen have again teamed up to continue COVID-19 mitigation and community wellness efforts as New Jersey marches toward the endemic. “It is important that as we move forward, we provide access to our most vulnerable communities, providing them with resources to keep them safe, increase their health and wellness and connect them to essential care,” said Bergen New Bridge President and CEO, Deborah Visconi. “We have secured 6000 at home COVID tests to bring to Communities of Color, LGBTQ, and traditionally underserved communities including the Ramapough Lenape Nation. Our Community Health Team has distributed 1000 of these tests at wellness events we have created specifically for those who need our services the most.” “We are thankful to Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and Bergen County for their dedication to our communities,” said Jeff Carter, President of the Bergen County NAACP. “They continue to lead the way out of this pandemic by ensuring our communities are not left behind.” “The power of partnerships has been the driving force behind our pandemic battle,” said Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco. “We will continue supporting our county-owned hospital, Bergen New Bridge, in bringing vaccines, testing, and whatever resources necessary directly into our communities to help our neighbors stay safe as we move to the endemic.” “When the Latinx community needed COVID tests and access to healthcare, Bergen New Bridge answered the call and worked directly with me to set up multiple events at churches throughout the community,” said Bergen County Commissioner Germaine Ortiz. “Building trust, cultivating relationships, and providing access to care is the key to better health outcomes.” For more information regarding community events, testing, vaccinations, and healthcare services, please visit newbridgehealth.org.
