The tea just got a little sweeter for Radio Felician University hosts Kiera Benson and Nicole Cacciatore. The students’ show Spill the Tea took second place in the College Broadcasting, Inc. (CBI) 2020 National Student Production Awards in the category of Regularly Scheduled Programming. Radio Felician University is Felician University’s internet-based radio station located on the Rutherford campus. Shows created by students and faculty air on Thursdays and Sundays. Kiera and Nicole created Spill the Tea as a series of interviews with Felician University professors, information sharing, and friendly campus chatter. It’s a format that has been well-received as listenership has grown. The recognition was bittersweet because it came as Radio Felician’s Station Manager Jeff Shelly, who also served as Felician’s Multi-Media Communications Specialist, recently lost his battle with cancer. Nicole Cacciatore described her experience, “I couldn’t thank him more. When I began at the station, I was so shy, and Jeff helped me tremendously.” Kiera Benson added, “He was such an inspiration, and I will never forget all the amazing memories we had with him at Radio Felician.” Congratulations Kiera and Nicole! You can listen to Spill the Tea and a full line-up of Radio Felician programs on Thursdays and Sundays – and Radio Felician 24/7 at http://edge.mixlr.com/channel/oozbc.
