Holy Name Medical Center today announced it has earned renewal accreditation as both a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation (SRC), an internationally recognized patient safety organization. The facility is recognized for providing superior patient care as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation. Center of Excellence accreditation from SRC shows Holy Name has met nationally recognized standards. Not all hospitals and surgeons seek accreditation; not all that undergo the rigorous site inspection process are granted accreditation. "This national recognition for robotic surgery and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery validates the efforts of our highly-skilled and dedicated healthcare team," said Adam Jarrett, MD, chief medical officer at Holy Name Medical Center. "We look forward to continuing to set the gold standard and providing excellent outcomes to the communities we serve." Benefits of minimally invasive surgery techniques may include shorter hospital stays, faster recovery time, reduced pain and scarring, and smaller incisions. The following physicians have also received accreditation: Dr. Sharyn N. Lewin, Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery Dr. Jacinto Jose Fernandez, Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Dr. Henry Fernandez-Cos, Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Dr. Yitzhack Asulin, Master Surgeon in Robotic Surgery, Surgeon of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery "We're proud to recognize Holy Name Medical Center as a Center of Excellence in both Minimally Invasive Gynecology and Robotic Surgery for their commitment to providing quality care for all patients," said Gary M. Pratt, CEO of SRC. "This accreditation signals that the facility and its surgeons are among the best in their specialty and are dedicated to delivering the highest level of care possible." Health care organizations and surgeons seeking accreditation by SRC undergo an extensive self-assessment and site inspection. This process includes physicians, nurses and administrators who are actively involved in the accredited program. The inspection is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization or surgeon improve its care and services.
