The Law Office of George J. Tyler, P.C. today announced that it is adding two new name shareholders to the firm. The firm will be known as Tyler Aversano & Krantz and will continue its more than 20-year history of providing legal services for its environmental, land use, real estate, labor, business and litigation clients. James Aversano III is a 1997 graduate of Widener University Law School and previously worked for the State of New Jersey as a Deputy Attorney General in the Hazardous Site Litigation Section. Jim joined the firm in 2003 and has been a shareholder since 2008. Jim handles a wide variety of business, corporate, real estate and land use matters, with a concentration in environmental law. Currently, Jim is representing a major commercial retailer redeveloping an industrial park in Elizabeth and a marine construction firm in the remediation and sale of property in Port Newark on the Passaic River. Matthew Krantz graduated from the Rutgers University School of Law – Newark in 2008. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk in the Civil Division of the Superior Court of Mercer County. Matt routinely assists clients with environmental issues, commercial and residential real estate transactions, labor disputes, landlord/tenant matters, insurance coverage, and litigation related to these areas. In recent months, Matt has litigated and successfully resolved one of the largest regulatory takings cases in the State’s history, in Cape May County, and obtained summary judgment for the firm’ s client in a wetlands litigation in Ocean County. In addition, Yonina Bendheim Jacobson has been named counsel to the firm. Yonina is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. She focuses her practice on general corporate, labor compliance and environmental matters. George Tyler founded the firm in 2000. He has worked extensively on “brownfields” redevelopment projects, including the permitting, financing and construction of a 450 ton/day food waste recycling plant in Trenton, and on redevelopments at the Elizabeth and Bayonne landfills. He also assists clients in regulatory compliance with state and federal agencies and in transactions, particularly those involving real estate and development projects. George has handled transactions for the national and international marketing of renewable natural gas credits and the closure of, and renewable natural gas management at, various landfills in the eastern United States. He also represents governmental agencies, particularly entities managing wastewater treatment. During his 17-year career with NJDEP, George served as the Director of the Division of Environmental Quality and for six years as the Assistant Commissioner for Environmental Management. A graduate of Manhattan College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, George holds a JD degree, cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is a frequent lecturer on environmental law. Last year, George was named to the State’s Recycling Market Development Council by Governor Murphy. “I am excited about the new firm structure,” George said. “I look forward to working with our attorneys and staff as we continue to advocate for our clients and work to provide them with the highest levels of professional service.
