The Caucus Educational Corporation (CEC) is a non-profit, educational multi-media production company that produces a variety of programming to keep NJ citizens informed on an array of topics. Through funding from underwriters who value public television and what it has to offer, the CEC is able to produce high quality, relevant video programming. Coverage includes healthcare, education, NJ politics, lifestyle, arts, business and economic issues, as well as interviews with ordinary people who do extraordinary things.
In 1994 Steve Adubato, Ph.D., together with a group of entrepreneurial broadcast professionals in the public television community, created the CEC. The CEC has transformed itself from a small non-profit television production company to a dynamic producer of multi-media content that appears on PBS stations, cable television, and the internet, reaching more than 10 million households in six states (NJ, NY, CT, PA, DE, MD). In addition, select programming can be seen on NJ.com, BestOfNJ.com, NJBIZ.com, CIANJ.org, MeadowlandsUSA.com, NJBIA.org and InsiderNJ.com.
In 2011, the CEC joined with its partner, WNET – the PBS flagship station in New York – to help create New Jersey’s new public television station, NJTV. Today, the CEC is the lead, independent programmer of educational, arts and public affairs content on NJTV.
