Moody Award in recognition of their anti-bullying efforts in their school! This award was presented by Community Policing division within the Paterson Police Department. We salute Jase, Zah’maira, Skarleny, and Marianny for embodying Club values, lifting up their school and Club peers, and leading with empathy, kindness, and respect every single day. When you’re the Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic's Youth of the Year candidate, there’s a major question you have to ask yourself – what do I wear to the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey's 2024 Youth of the Year interviews and Awards Ceremony? That’s the question Nadir, our 2024 Youth of the Year, had to answer recently when he went shopping for a fresh suit to wear to the big event, scheduled for next week. Thanks to support from Macy's and Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey, Nadir spent an exciting afternoon trying on a variety of colorful suits, shirts, and ties, all in the quest to find that special outfit that was just for him. We can’t thank Roula, a caring and attentive sales associate at Macy's Willowbrook Mall, enough for lending her sartorial expertise to the cause! Thank you again to Macy's and the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey for making this shopping trip possible. Let’s play ball! Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic Club Kid Damien, 10, was recently featured in TAPintoPaterson coverage of the Paterson Old Timers Youth Baseball League’s new season kickoff. A Club member since he was 5-years-old, Damien is also a second baseman for powerhouse team Liga Mercedes. Damien told the news outlet that, while he wishes to play in the Big Leagues one day, he's currently focused on helping Liga Mercedes win another league championship. Damien also got to meet city officials at the season opener, which took place at the historic, redeveloped Hinchliffe Stadium, including Mayor Andre Sayegh! We’re rooting for Damien, our future Hall of Famer, and wish him all the best throughout the coming baseball season –- and as he strives toward his #GreatFuture ! At our Club, every day is an opportunity to inspire young minds, and #TakeYourChildToWorkDay was no exception. Yesterday, several Club staff members shared their workplace with their children and taught them about the life-changing work they do in Paterson and Passaic. Yesterday, FIVE of our amazing Club Kids from our School 10 site were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. Please join us in congratulating Marlenis, Jase, Winifer, Jade, and Diana on this prestigious honor! The high achievers were celebrated during a school induction ceremony, attended by parents, school staff and administration, the Paterson school superintendent, and Boys & Girls Club of Paterson and Passaic School 10 Unit Director (and Jase's mom), CJ.
