The Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation at the American Museum of Natural History—designed by Studio Gang, Davis Brody Bond, a Page Company, and Reed Hilderbrand LLC Landscape Architecture—was honored with a 2024 Citation for a Comprehensive Reorganization of Interior Space by AIA New York. AKRF led CEQR environmental review, prepared a pedestrian safety assessment and implementation plan, performed site assessment/remediation services, and provided construction monitoring. #AMNH #GilderCenter #museum #awardwinner https://lnkd.in/e5T-gRSt

The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced the final National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) followed by a final rule that designates two widely used PFAS as hazardous substances under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act: perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS). This new rule will enable EPA to require investigation and cleanup of releases of these chemicals to the environment.    AKRF has been at the forefront of managing sites contaminated by PFAS based on our expertise in investigation and site characterization, risk assessment, understanding federal and state regulatory implications, design and implementation of remedial technologies, and regulatory compliance. Founded in 1799, the Westtown School in West Chester, PA, serves the educational needs of nearly 700 students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. AKRF's E&LP Division is partnering with Studio Ludo and Metcalfe Architecture & Design, LLC to design a new Lower School Playground and green stormwater infrastructure improvements on the institution’s 600-acre campus. The $210 million expansion and renovation of Jake's 58 Casino Hotel on Long Island celebrated the start of construction yesterday. Opened in 2023, Hoboken’s Northwest Resiliency Park provides six acres of community recreation facilities and public open space with integrated green stormwater infrastructure measures to mitigate flooding during storms and rain events.
