The US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced the final National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for six per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) followed by a final rule that designates two widely used PFAS as hazardous substances under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act: perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS). This new rule will enable EPA to require investigation and cleanup of releases of these chemicals to the environment. AKRF has been at the forefront of managing sites contaminated by PFAS based on our expertise in investigation and site characterization, risk assessment, understanding federal and state regulatory implications, design and implementation of remedial technologies, and regulatory compliance. Connect with any of our environmental professionals for more information. #PFAS #PFOA #PFOS #CERCLA #environment #aecindustry
